Lay of the Land’s ‘Photo Pick’ of the Week

More than Netanyahu or his rivals being unable to form a government which was predictable, less predictable was the historic surge in Arab voter turnout, propelling Arab-led parties to a record-breaking 19 seats in the 120-seat Knesset. While Netanyahu was quick to ashamedly accuse Arab parties of “stealing the vote”, these parties for far too long relegated to the margins of Israeli political life have now shifted the Israeli political landscape!

“What has made me happy is instead of just despair, the Arab citizens exercised their civil rights and we deserve those rights,” Raam party leader, Mansour Abbas told i24NEWS, who is seen here with his family voting on Tuesday in Maghar. (Photo: Mahmoud Illean / AP)
