Israel sends 100 tons of humanitarian aid to Ukraine

Lay of the Land applauds the Israeli government in facilitating the ongoing transfer of humanitarian aid to Ukraine and to bordering nations according to their needs. The people of Israel  welcome the over 7000 Ukrainian citizens who have arrived in Israel since the start of the war.

Ukrainian suffering and the Palestinians cannot be compared

Israel Responds. From trying to mediate an end to hostilities to sending aid to Ukraine, Israel is in the vanguard of support.

Jealous of the global attention, support and solidarity towards the brave Ukrainians, anti-Israel activists have taken to social media to  hijack the struggle by falsely equating the horrendous suffering of the Ukrainians with the political stalemate position of the Palestinians. The writer exposes this Machiavellian perversion!

Spelling it Out. South African court finds remarks by trade union official to be hate speech against Jewish community.

It took a long time coming but in the end, justice prevailed when remarks made in public in 2009 at a university by a trade union official that was offensive and threatening to the Jewish community, was finally in 2022, construed  by a South African court as “HATE SPEECH”. The writer applauds but also laments “until next time”!

It’s not a matter of whether Russia waging war on the Ukraine is politically motivated. It is simply a matter of good versus evil.…” asserts the writer, who channels her anguish, frustration and questioning of the unfolding human tragedy on European soil through poetry.
